ECHOSPHERIENCE

Echosperience is a cultural heritage project dedicated to preserving the unique acoustics of historic churches through high-quality impulse response (IR) recordings. The project was made possible with support from Leader Upplandsbygd and the European Union.
In collaboration with the Sigtuna and Knivsta Parishes in Sweden, we captured the authentic reverberation of five medieval churches: Haga Church, Östuna Church, Vassunda Church, Husby-Långhundra Church, and Alsike Church. Each location was carefully documented using true stereo impulse response recordings, accompanied by 360° photography and high-resolution images.
The result is a professional convolution reverb collection that allows musicians, composers, filmmakers, and game developers around the world to bring the genuine sound of these remarkable Swedish churches into their own productions.
Beyond creating a new audio product, the project contributes to the digital preservation of an often-overlooked part of our cultural heritage—the acoustic identity of historic spaces. By combining heritage conservation with modern audio technology, these unique environments can continue to inspire future generations, both locally and internationally.
